I specialize in providing research-proven cognitive-behavioral treatments tailored to the individual needs and goals of my patients. Among the problems I commonly treat are anxiety, depression, relationship issues, bipolar disorder, OCD, panic and agoraphobia, PTSD, social anxiety, phobias, LGBTQ issues, career issues, anger, grief, and personality disorders. For complex problems I offer integrative therapy that combines the proven practical techniques of CBT with the in-depth understanding of human personality and functioning provided by psychoanalytic, humanistic, and mindfulness-based approaches. I am Founder and Director of the Capital Institute for Cognitive Therapy. Washingtonian Magazine named me one of the top therapists in the DC area. I am co-author of a widely used text on empirically-supported CBT treatments and frequently present at national and international conferences. Capital Institute for Cognitive Therapy has a staff of 10 therapists with advanced training in cognitive-behavioral and integrative therapy. We work with a wide range of presenting problems and provide individual, couples, and group therapy.
