I bring my varied experience as a teacher, musician and healer to helping children, families and adults address the emotional, physical and behavioral effects of trauma, anxiety, depression, loss, divorce and sexual abuse. Drawing on family systems and attachment theory as well as expressive arts and mind-body approaches, I help clients shift into new, healing ways of being both with themselves and with others. My special passion is for children and families. I see parents whose love for their children is unintentionally disrupted, whether by their own difficult childhood experiences or by feeling unprepared for particular parenting challenges. Parents struggle, for example, with managing a child's ADHD or depression, supporting a child who has survived a traumatic experience, is coming out as LGBT or is confused by his/her parents' divorce. Parenting is difficult and I support and empower parents in bringing healing to the entire family. Engaging their natural playfulness, curiosity and resilience, I also help children to develop healthy and adaptive ways of expressing and regulating their emotions, communicating with their peers and parents, and handling difficult social/relational situations. Working with children and parents, together and separately, I help families change and grow.
