There are a lot of misconceptions about mental health therapy. Therapy is not "punishment" for bad behavior. It's an opportunity to find out things about yourself and make changes or improvements. Sometimes it's a safe place to express anger or fears. Recently, I have opened a virtual office at TheCounselors.com for those who cannot physically come to my office for services. Most adults don't seek therapy for ADHD. They come for anxiety or depression. Adult ADHD almost never occurs alone.History shows ADHD in adults is frequently paired with another diagnosis.It's not until an assessment is done that we find the attention problems. I strive to make therapy in my office, comfortable, honest and confidential. Your quality of life is of the most importance. My pet peeve is those who are judgemental. I do not perform couples counseling but have several colleagues that can be used as referrals.
