I am a Dr. in Counseling Psychology and I have been a Counselor/ Therapist for the past 18 years. Since 2001, I am a Certified EMDR Level II Therapist. EMDR therapy is based on desensitizing painful memories and reprocessing them in a healthier and more positive way. My primary focus is to offer a safe environment where clients feel comfortable enough to explore their challenges; Traumas, Emotional Distress, Addictions, Losses, Physical and/or Emotional Abuse, Codependency, Gay and Lesbian issues in order for them to face life in a more functioning and positive way. I have been a Licensed Counselor/Therapist in Louisiana since 2001 and Nevada since 2009. I am practicing EMDR to empower individuals and assist them to make positive life changing decisions. Through EMDR painful memories will no longer produce the emotional pain and feeling "STUCK" that it did before. The theoretical basis that I will use for my counseling services emphasizes Existential and Humanistic approaches to help the clients resolve their own problems. My counseling intervention is limited to adults and adolescents who seek counseling to become more accepting of themselves and who are able to manage daily living activities.
