Dr. Herbig has practiced counseling/ psychotherapy with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families for the last forty years and in a variety of settings. He is adjunct professor at Northern Arizona Univ.-Extended Campus. He was Clinical Director of the Center for Individual and Family Counseling (Chicago area) for 25 years. Dr. Herbig has a Ph.D. in psychology from Loyola University of Chicago, and a MSW from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of the Chicago Institute-Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy Program (4 yrs.) and did extensive work at the Family Institute of Chicago. Dr. Herbig begins the referral process with clients with an "assessment". He and the client(s) together determine issues that need attention, and if and how best to proceed. This process also allows the client(s) an opportunity to determine whether they feel comfortable with and confident in Dr. H.
