I have worked with addicts and alcoholics for the last 25 years throughout the US. One thing I have learned is that no one ever sets out to be the best addict they can be! Addiction is a disease which can be treated. The only clients who do not make it are the ones that don't participate fully in recovery. Over the years I have watched miracles happen to young and old, rich and poor. I have also seen families heal and repair in order to stop the madness and to break the chain of addiction. In Florida, I am licensed to treat substance abusers, as well as family members who have been negatively affected by addictions. My specialty is working with adult children of Alcoholics who have learned to cope with fear and pain by adapting roles in childhood which hinder their adult relationships. This is called co-dependency.
