Each of us possesses our own wisdom and experience times in our lives when messages from others or society in general make it difficult to hear that inner wisdom. It is the job of a therapist to help you find your own wisdom. Having another individual who is trained to listen and respond in a supportive yet challenging way makes therapy different from talking to a friend. It is sometimes difficult to push ourselves to make changes. I can serve as that external support while providing the accountability to make tough changes. I have specialty training in the treatment of eating disorders, where I work with you to accept yourself and end potentially life threatening behviors. While this is an area of specialty for me, I also enjoy working with anyone who is open to examining their own life and making changes. You may be concerned that I am not on your insurance panel. In these economic times, I understand and respect that concern. My belief is that therapy should be affordable to anyone who is committed. Therefore, I will work with you on the cost of sessions or a payment plan.
