Working with individuals in a variety of settings, I believe that we all have the ability to reach our full capacity as individuals by changing our behaviors, thinking, and way we react to various situations by learning more about our subconscious desires and motivators. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, relationships issues, adjustment to illness, and grief/loss. Post traumatic Stress Disorder is also one of my areas of interest. This includes veterans, survivors of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. I worked at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago from 2004-2011 where my skills and enthusiasm were recognized with the Social Worker of the Year award (2009). I also received the Partner in Care award in 2009 and 2007. My experience has provided me with strong foundation of cbt, family systems techniques, and psychodynamic theory. Clients may hesitate to get treatment when they are victims of sexual/emotional abuse in a therapeutic setting because they feel responsible. The client expectedly will not recognize the professional abuse as trauma. I can provide the education/ support to help individuals understand the meaning and impact of such unjust experience.
