I am a licensed mental health counselor providing therapeutic services at Anchor Counseling Center. I graduated from Lesley University in Cambridge MA with a Masters in Counseling and Psychology. As a counselor my approach is client centered, where I meet individuals where they are at in the moment. I am compassionate, nonjudgemental, and exude positive energy. I consider rapport developing an integral part of therapy to establish a therapeutic relationship based on trust and comfort. Specialty areas of mine consist of trauma, grief, post disaster distress. I work with children, adolescents, and adults. I utilize a variety of modalities based on the needs of each individual. Modalities consist of but are not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT, Trauma Informed Yoga, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy, and Art. Along with being a counselor I am a certified Kripalu yoga instructor. I incorporate yoga, breathwork and mindfulness practices when appropriate. Research shows the benefits of yoga for decreasing stress/anxiety, increasing self-esteem and self awareness, healing from trauma, and a variety of other benefits for body, mind and spirit.
