I work with individuals, couples, and families, treating a variety of presenting problems. I have experience working with both children and adults, and have worked extensively with other professional persons, including physicians, lawyers, executives, teachers and other psychotherapists. If you have had brief therapies in the past, and have found them ineffective at mitigating distressing symptoms, a more in-depth approach may be beneficial. I have gained considerable insight from my own experiences with psychotherapy, consisting of individual psychoanalysis and in-depth couples therapy, which have informed my practice in ways that no amount of schooling could have otherwise provided, thus cultivating unique insight into how to best meet the needs of my clients. Prior to becoming a mental health professional, I spent over 15 years working with persons of all walks of life to overcome various forms addiction. I studied psychoanalytic theory and literature at the University of California at Berkeley, where I received my BA in English. I received my MSW degree from the University of Kentucky. My clinical residency was completed at Family Counseling Service in Lexington, KY.
