I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor currently working with adults, children, adolescents and families. I graduated from Valparaiso University with an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2006. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is necessary to create change and I seek to create a safe environment through the use of humor, validation, and support. In addition to working with adults dealing with emotional and interpersonal concerns, I specialize in working with children and adolescents exhibiting behavioral problems, emotional concerns, or dealing with stress associated with divorce, grief or trauma. My treatment is trauma informed. I am EMDR level 1 trained and utilize EMDR to assist youth and adults in processing traumatic experiences. I am also trained in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), an evidenced based treatment for children exhibiting significant behavior problems at home, school, or day care.
