My practice specializes in supporting parents, adolescents, and children who are experiencing distress. Sometimes events like divorce, trauma, loss, and adjustment to a blended family or a new school spark the problem. As a result, depression, anxiety, temper tantrums, mood swings, bullying, isolation, addiction, and academic failure may emerge. I support people as they overcome these challenges. I believe in the capacity to grow, change, and move towards self-determined goals. For over 20 years, I have been providing academic support and mentoring to adolescents in the Chicago Public Schools. In 2007, I completed my Masters of Social Work. My post-masters professional development includes training in Mindfulness and Psychotherapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Working collaboratively with a team of educational therapists, an art therapist, and a neuropsychologist, I am committed to the process of implementing evidence based practices that meet my clients' needs. Finally, I will respond to requests for initial consultations usually within 24 hours.
