I am a psychiaric nurse and a psychotherapist. I provide counseling services to a wide variety of clients. I do not write prescriptions for medication. I work with families, individuals, and couples as well as selected children and adolescents. I provide dynamic counseling, psychotherapy, and group therapy in a safe setting. As a therapist I am active in the room providing feedback and challenges as appropriate. I use existential psychodynamic techniques, CBT, DBT, Reality Therapy, motivational interview and bibliotherapy and to apply the principles and procedures of counseling to assess and treat client issues. I work with a broad variety of isssues including individuals with mood and anxiety disorders, depression, obsessions, , selected eating disorders, health issues, grief and and loss, illness and end of life issues, marital, and families of the mentally ill. Work is toward emotional flexibility and cognitive health. I bring my extensive psychiatric nursing skills into focus, evaluate health concerns and medications for referral and treatment. I provide focused counseling, a supportive environment and challenge to change.
