Every journey begins with the first step. When new clients come to me I congratulate them for successfully taking that first step which is often the hardest part of their counseling journey. After meeting me, clients will say, "You aren't like other therapists." My style is down-to-earth and straight forward, with a side of laughter, and a box of Kleenex. I'm your toughest mentor and your biggest cheerleader all rolled into one. You come to me with a problem, and hire me to help you fix it. I take that job seriously, and consider us partners. I have 16 years' experience working with children and adults. Areas of special interest include anxiety, panic disorder, bereavement, loss via suicide, and adult survivors of childhood abuse. I engage in Play Therapy with young children and address a variety of issues including anxiety, selective mutism, childhood depression, and ADHD. I have been lucky to spend 20 years learning about the way minds, relationships, and emotions work, and finding ways to make this therapy stuff practical and helpful in a really complicated and frequently stressful world. My goal is to bring joy back into your life.
