I am a Chemical Dependency Counselor (CDCII) with 17 years of experience. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree specializing in Addictions and a Master of Science degree in Community Mental Health with an emphasis in Dual Diagnosis (Mental Health issues in conjunction with Addiction). I have worked in a wide variety of settings with both adolescents and adults. Prior to my work at Alaska Family Counseling, I worked at an Alternative High School, Outpatient and Inpatient drug treatment facilities, a State Hospital as well as a Community Mental Health Center. I believe in offering a safe and nonjudgmental counseling environment. This allows for a strong therapeutic relationship. I believe a strong relationship fosters trust and hope, which are vital keys to successful therapeutic outcomes. I focus on your personal strengths to help you obtain your desired goals in therapy. I am working on my licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor to add to my CDCII certificate. While working toward this goal I am under the supervision of a Licensed Therapist with 23 years of professional practice. Presently I offer a sliding fee scale, though I cannot accept insurance.
