First, thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement. I want to start by telling you a bit about my background and experience. I work at Anchor Counseling Center, a family-owned practice that provides outpatient counseling services to a diverse population. I have 8 years of counseling experience and over 15 years in mental health care. My approach centers around supportive therapy in which clients can reach a comfort level and increase trust. I am fluent in Portuguese and have extensive experience in treating children/adolescents diagnosed with Autism, Asperger's, ADHD, Anxiety, anger, school-related issues, and Mood disorders. My counseling experience extends to working with adults who struggle with Depression, Anxiety, and ADHD. I also specialize in providing parent training, psychoeducation regarding diagnoses, and support.
