My professional work is rooted in the belief that clients have the inner resources to deal with most life challenges, and that it is my task to simply support and help direct their search for their own viable solutions and understandings. While my initial work was in parish ministry, I always respect the life values that clients bring into therapy and never presume that it is my responsibility to impose my own. Respect for diversity and the beliief in the resiliency of the human spirit are the paramount principles of my practice. I am clinically trained as a licensed marriage and family therapist. Family systems theory allows me to focus on the development and repair of self-esteem, mediation and conflict resolution, divorce adjustment and sexual dysfunction. Strengthening assertive communication skills helps clients deal with various issues of anxiety and depression.
