As a counselor I am comfortable working with a breadth of distressing experiences, thoughts, and feelings, while as a former engineer I bring understanding of the latest research to better discern your unique struggles. Though I am an expert on human behavior, cognition, and emotion, I believe you hold the key to your own growth and healing, and we will work together to help you survive and thrive. The collaboration between us will form a secure foundation from which you will be able to change and grow, and I will respect and challenge you in your progress. I work with adults, older adolescents, couples, and families to address group and individual concerns. Depression, anxiety, and reproductive health issues are my fundamental area of focus. I specialize in treatment of perinatal, infertility, and primary caregiver issues (whether you're caring for children, special loved ones, or aging parents). I approach therapy from a client-centered perspective, with a focus on psychodynamic and psychoanalytic theories. I also utilize dialectical and cognitive behavioral therapy (DBT and CBT) techniques to aid in your success in therapy. Our practice respects every individual, and believes in harnessing each person's strengths for growth.
