I practice an evidence based model: Motivational Interviewing, it is a collaborative conversation to strengthen a person's own motivation for and commitment to change. I would say that I hold a few principles the govern my work. First is make sure that you are heard and believed, Second, be supportive, Third, teach and demonstrate empathy and compassion and finally, I practice being in the here and now in individual, couple and group work.
