As a solution focused therapist, who trained at the University of Pennsylvania, my goal is to help empower you to find your own strengths. I try to approach therapy in a way that will assist you to heal the wounds of your past, and deal with the issues of the present in a warm, nurturing, and non-judgmental manner. I'm a Certified Clinical Supervisor, and a Certified EMDR Therapist, with over 11 years of experience working with many types of disorders. However, my areas of expertise are ADHD and learning difficulties, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), family and relationship problems, anxiety, and depression. In working with young children, I employ therapeutic art and play techniques, which help children express emotions they might not be able to do verbally. I include parents to develop a comprehensive behavior modification plan usable at home and school. I am also certified as a CogMed Working Memory Training coach. With adolescent and adult clients, I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), psychodrama based methods, meditation, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness, and EFT. By utilizing these techniques, I hope to enable you to have better control over your emotions, rather than having your emotions be in control of you.
