Since 1983 I have enjoyed working with adults, adolescents, and couples. My work emphasizes the needs of the individual. I have a background in insight-oriented psychotherapy, but I adapt my work to the particular person before me. Different people respond to different approaches, though all people benefit from careful and respectful listening. I like to work with people from different backgrounds, cultures and orientations. My office is in downtown Ann Arbor. It is a comfortable environment that offers a variety of seating and natural light. I am reached at 734-995-0416. I return calls quickly. I aim to establish a safe and comfortable environment for pursuing self-awareness and change. My work is informed by psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and family systems ideas. I approach therapy taking into account individual strengths, needs and, cultural background. Presenting concerns might include depression, anxiety, work or school difficulties, grief, relationship or identity issues. I've published books about emotional states (shame) and a book for teens with troubled parents. I also write fiction and am interested in creative process. Undergraduate schools were U of Michigan, and U of Chicago (UM honors program, Phi Beta Kappa.) Advanced degrees are from U of M. Please visit: http: //susanmillerphdpsychologist.weebly.com/
