About MeadowWood Behavioral Health MeadowWood Behavioral Health System is a 78-bed psychiatric and addiction treatment center for adolescents, adults, and older adults. MeadowWood offers a safe and comfortable environment where patients can leave behind the stress of daily life and place all of their focus on the healing process. The entire staff at MeadowWood is dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive care to all individuals that entrust us with their care. Our highly qualified staff has years of experience helping individuals of all ages, providing them with the skills needed to overcome a multitude of mental health disorders and/or addictions. Furthermore, we are able to provide exceptional treatment that helps each and every one of our patients find long-lasting, successful recovery. Signs and Symptoms of Substance Abuse The signs and symptoms of substance abuse are going to vary depending upon the substance that is being abused, the length of abuse, and the individual characteristics of the person who is using. Individuals who continue to abuse drugs and/or alcohol will usually begin to display a number of behavioral, physical, and emotional symptoms that will inevitability impact how a person functions on a daily basis. Those who abuse substances may begin to engage in risky behaviors, their performance at work or school may decline, and they may begin to pull away from those closest to them. Physically they may begin to lose weight and their overall health and appearance may decline. Additionally, these individuals may experience changes in their personality, have sudden mood swings, and, at times, may become paranoid for no reason. Over time, without proper treatment, the symptoms associated with drug and/or alcohol will only get worse and, in some cases, can end in death due to suicide or overdose. Treatment Options at MeadowWood Behavioral Health At MeadowWood Behavioral Health System, we truly believe that each patient is a unique individual, which is why each one of our treatment programs places an emphasis on treating the whole person and not just his or her symptoms. The treatment team in each program works closely with patients and their families in order to understand the specific issues they are facing in order to create an individualized treatment plan. In order to provide the highest quality of treatment available, MeadowWood offers multiple treatment programs to address a variety of treatment needs. The following programs offered at MeadowWood include our adolescent behavioral health program, an inpatient adult program, a senior behavioral program, a co-occurring program for patients of all ages, and a co-occurring partial hospitalization program. The overall goal for treatment at MeadowWood is to provide each patient with the stabilization needed to move on to a less intensive level of care.
