I believe that the goal of therapy, with both children, adolescents and adults, is to help build a positive sense of self. I believe that therapy calls upon curiosity, a willingness to examine thoughts and feelings and a willingness to change. For over 15 years, I have enjoyed doing both therapy and psychological testing with all ages. I am experienced with such issues as anxiety/worries, stress, depression, relationships, parenting, divorce/separation, trauma, assessments for AD/HD and learning disabilities, and evaluations for emotional/personality functioning. I see each client as unique and their concerns as important. My belief is that the work of therapy is to help the adult or child feel more confident about themselves and better able to express, understand and manage their thoughts, feelings and behavior. Thoughts and feelings and how they work for or against the well-being of the client are explored. . I am interested in testing to assess learning and attention deficit difficulties. I am interested in what interferes with learning as well as how learning affects self-esteem and self-esteem affects behavior. Experiencing oneself as competent, accepted and valued are the goals I hope to encourage with the clients I meet with.
