I believe that achieving a life of greater balance, positive growth can begin with a sense that there is more to discover, and then the desire to begin. I trust the energy of change generated in a room when one person authentically hears another. In my work, I use deep listening, mindfulness techniques, clarifying and strengthening identity, evaluating family and attachments patterns, and environmental and social theory. My approach is thoughtful, culturally aware, open, and creative. I love creating that safe place that allows the stuck places to open to new possibilities. My own experience of mindful practice affirms for me what an invaluable resource this technique is-for facing challenges, increasing self-efficacy, and boosting happiness.My interests include: authentic spirituality, positive LGBTQ and gender-identity perspectives, teen/parent dynamics, and developing meaning in life. For the past 13 years I have worked with adults, teens, and families from many backgrounds, ages in home, office, and prison settings. I developed a holistic point of view as a young adult and have practiced meditation for 28 years, studying with teachers in the U.S. and India.
