My area of interest is in strengthening families. I specialize in treating children coping with trauma, behavioral changes and emotional concerns. I assist families with adjustment issues relating to loss,divorce, illnesses, and developmental issues. In order to help children, one must first support the caregivers. Thus, parents and caregivers play a central role in treatment. My work with families has led me to additional training in helping adults. In recent years, I have also provided treatment for adults facing the challenges of depression, anxiety, and loss. I am certified in Play Therapy. I have thirty years experience. I typically use a cognitive-behavioral approach to treatment. This means that we work together to identify specific goals for change. Next, we examine specific patterns of thinking and behavior that may be counter-productive. We also work to strengthen positive coping skills I am flexible in my treatment approach, and will adjust to meet your needs.
