I often incorporate the concept of "mindfulness" in my practice, asking people to be careful explorers of their own thoughts, feelings, and actions. You are the expert on your own self and your own experience, and I am your partner/consultant who has training and expertise in coping with human life and frailty, joys and sorrows. You are not alone. I envision us as a team, exploring your issue(s) together to find a way for you to get to smoother sailing. Call, text, or email me and we can decide whether to meet. I spent many years in a prior career working with engineers, scientists, and other left-brain-dominant people, so I understand and communicate well with them. I enjoy working with individuals and couples of any gender or orientation. I also work with emotional adjustment to disability, such as spinal cord injury or pain. I worked with spinal cord injured people for 5 years at University of Michigan's Spinal Cord Injury program, and feel a special affinity for people in this situation. Home visits can be arranged.
