I find curiosity, connection, and compassion to be the building blocks of growth in therapy. Most people can use this to enlarge their own coping strategies and self-development. I draw on over 30 years of working with people of many backgrounds and stages of life in an individualized manner that integrates research-based mindfulness, insight-oriented, and cognitive-behavioral concepts and tools. Mindfulness gives people concrete tools to feel settled and grounded. I enjoy helping people with difficult life transitions, managing feelings, and achieving more satisfying work and relationships. Areas of specialization include managing stress, depression, anxiety, as well as life transitions and decisions. Mindfulness concepts and practices, based on a growing body of research, are available. I have recently completed an academic year course in mindfulness and psychotherapy with the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy of Cambridge, Mass. My office is conveniently located near central campus at UM, close to parking. I work with adults from 18 to 80. I am a fully licensed psychologist and received my graduate training at U of M.You can call or email me to set up an initial consultation.
