I enjoy meeting clients' needs by starting therapy where they are comfortable, and forming a supportive relationship. Using clients' strengths, I offer suggestions, education, and healthy perspectives in order to help facilitate growth. Helping to empower individuals I use specialized treatment methods such as: verbal processing, play therapy, sand tray therapy, and writing and drawing methods. Using a client centered approach, the part of my job that I love is teaching new concepts and offering alternative perspectives. My ideal client is someone who is open to feedback and ready to create changes in life. I have a Licensed Master of Social Work, I'm a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and a Certified Trauma Practitioner. I enjoy working with children as young as age three, adolescents, adults, and families. I'm also an Acupuncture Detoxofication Specialist, promoting holistic healing for self care. My experience includes substance abuse treatment in residential, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings. I have also worked with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and childhood sexual abuse. In my spare time I have volunteered with elementary and middle school aged children focusing on values, self esteem, and healthy choices.
