I provide counseling to adolescents and adults to facilitate growth and change and help people move beyond destructive patterns to experience life to their fullest capacity. I have worked in the field of crisis intervention, counseling and therapy for over 20 years, in a wide variety of settings -- hospitals, college counseling centers, family medicine clinics, rape crisis centers, and private practice. I share my practice with four colleagues: Charlotte Dodd, M.A., Karen Gottschalk, M.A., Amy Guyton, M.A, and Judy Seldin, M.A. together we have nearly 80 years of experience in the mental health field. I am a general practitioner and see clients with a variety of common mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. However, some of my specialty areas include: trauma, eating disorders, reproductive issues/negative birth experiences, chronic illness, spirituality, and people coping with transitions. My work involves exploring people's strengths as well as ambivalence about change, and applying multiple strategies to achieve a client's goals. These may involve: motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, gestalt techniques, inner child work, mindfulness, body-based therapies. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher, 200 hour certification.
