Do you spend too much of your time feeling sad or worried? Are you lonely, or do you often find yourself struggling in your relationships? Are you concerned that you aren't reaching your potential at school or in your career? Do hurts and disappointments from the past continue to bother you? As a therapist, I work to help people address specific problems as well as the underlying causes of their difficulties. Psychotherapy, in my experience, is a collaborative process that can lead to self-awareness and to lasting freedom from chronic unhappiness. During my training, I completed an internship and a postgraduate fellowship at the outpatient psychiatric clinic of the University of Michigan Health System, where I continue to hold a part-time position providing clinical care and supervising therapists in training. I also have a doctoral degree in comparative literature. I enjoy working with people from a variety of backgrounds, and I have considerable experience with the particular concerns of both undergraduate and graduate students and of university faculty and staff. My office is in downtown Ann Arbor, close to the University of Michigan campus.
