I believe that counseling can be a powerful agent of positive change in many individuals' lives and can serve as a source of hope for those who might be feeling discouraged. I operate from a strengths-based perspective where we identify personal assets you possess to help work through current concerns. Another aspect of my counseling approach involves assisting you in exploring and finding personal meaning in your life. I invite feedback and encourage an open dialogue throughout the counseling process as we work towards your goals. My areas of expertise include: relationship breakups & concerns, depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief. I am a Licensed Psychologist in Michigan. I earned both my PhD (2011) and Master's Degree (2004) in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University. Over the past 10 years, I have worked with adolescents, adults, and older adults in various settings including: hospital inpatient, residential, outpatient treatment, university counseling centers, and private practice.
