We all hold the potential within ourselves to lead healthy, meaningful lives. Through identifying strengths, challenging maladaptive thought patterns & learning appropriate coping strategies, our potential is not only recognized, but expressed to the fullest. I employ an eclectic approach with an emphasis on cognitive-behavioral methods, analyzing how thoughts & beliefs that have developed over time affect our current emotional & behavioral patterns. Historical backgrounds play a significant role in who we are today & how we function as a whole; therefore it is also necessary to identify & resolve these maladaptive patterns which develop over time & in effect hinder our ability to succeed. My personal experience includes working with individuals primarily struggling with depression, anxiety, addictions, eating & weight issues, sexual issues, & trauma & PTSD. Treatment methods employed include SFBT, CBT, & DBT. I have also received level II training in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), which can be very effective in the treatment of trauma. I do offer a sliding scale fee structure to those who meet qualification based on income and dependents. I can also work with clients to seek reimbursement from insurance providers, if desired.
