My passion is to help individuals and couples as they face sexual addiction, substance abuse, trauma, and the stressors of life that lead to hopelessness, pain and loss. I engage individuals and couples using a task-centered, compassionate and non-judgmental approach, respecting their freedom of choice while challenging them to become the persons they really want to be. My goal is to help men and women who are struggling with the effects of sexual, love, and relationship addictions. I offer sex addiction treatment groups for men and provide tools and resources to begin to achieve sobriety and freedom from sexually compulsive behaviors. My therapeutic approach is a blending of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (particularly mindfulness), and psychodynamic therapy aligned with the power of 12 step recovery. I use a number of assessment tools to diagnose and treat sexual addiction, sexual anorexia, trauma and financial disorders. I am a certified Sex Addiction Therapist that received training through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals that was developed and facilitated by Patrick Carnes, one of the pioneers of sex addiction treatment.
