You may have been feeling in distress, or you might find it hard to connect -with others and with your own feelings. It occurs to you that talking to a therapist might help. You might have arrived recently to the US and need to adjust to your new life. Your goals to therapy could include being more comfortable with yourself, finding relief from anxiety or fear, being able to enjoy your relationships, achieving self-understanding and self-acceptance, or feeling fully alive. My job is to allow you to share thoughts and feelings that may otherwise remain confused and unexpressed. It is also my responsibility to do my best to understand, together with you, what is going on. In therapy we will work together in meeting your own goals, your Migratory Dream. I primarily work with the Hispanic population, in issues that have to do with Migration, such as migration grief, acculturation, and adaptation to a new culture. I provide career counseling for immigrants that want to achieve their migratory dream, and when necessary connect them with the resources they need.
