Mary offers a safe and gentle environment and works quickly to decrease disturbance and enhance a persons resources and strengths. With over 25 years experience in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide aray of psychological, emotional and behavioral concerns, she works to rapidly alleviate painful and disturbing patterns. Mary's practice focuses on the special needs and issues that each client/family brings to therapy. She uses a wholistic approach, that is grounded in systemic/family therapy. She utilizes EMDR and hypnosis when appropriate to assist clients getting "unstuck" in patterns related to emotional states, negative belief systems and trauma. Mary also has expertise in working with performance anxiety. This may include test anxiety, audition and performance concerns. Symptoms associated with fear of flying are frequently addressed and resolved. Mary has worked in medical, community and academic settings. Prior to opening her practice, she served as director of Catholic Community Services Marriage and Family Counseling and Substance Abuse programs. In addition to private practice she teaches and does graduate and post graduate supervision with therapists in training.
