Our lives are filled with relationships: friendship, significant other, parent, child, intimate partner, etc. When our relationships are struggle, so do other areas of life. Frequently, feelings of depression, anger, or stress coincide with disconnection of a significant and meaningful relationship. The feeling of disconnection is threatening and scary; allowing for thoughts of abandonment, and feeling alone. All too often the response is to withdraw and turn attention inward, in an effort to hide the disconnection. Unfortunately, this results in an increased feeling of disconnection in our most important relationships. This is a dangerous cycle that too many people frequently get stuck in. I offer counseling services to youth, adults, couples, and families who seek to reestablish their connections with family members and significant others. I assist clients with developing tools to communicate effectively and hear the emotions and thoughts of others. Professional counseling can provide you with an opportunity to talk to someone privately, confidentially, in an effort to gain a new perspective on your life. Counseling can help you discover what lies at the root of your struggles and relationship conflicts and assist you in making long-lasting, sustainable life changes.
