I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is comfortable, non-judgmental and empathetic. I believe that you are the expert in your life and it is my job to assist you with identifying and applying solutions to the obstacles that you are seeking help for. After establishing a therapeutic partnership, together, we will create a self-care plan that will assist you between sessions. Participation in therapy can result in a number of benefits to you; thus I ask for your active involvement, honesty, and openness in order to make the changes you desire. I provide counseling and assessment services to children, adolescents, and adults using a variety of methods tailored to meet individual needs. During the course of therapy, I draw on various psychological approaches based on the problem that is being treated and the assessment of what will best benefit you. I've been privileged to work with trauma survivors; men, women, adolescents and children at the Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center. Through my experience I have learned that more than one approach can be helpful in dealing with a certain situation. I have received training in CBT, DBT, and EMDR.
