As a military spouse and mother of five, I am keenly aware of the sacrifices military members, veterans and their families so often face. Many of these same experiences are shared by community first responders or other individuals who have experienced trauma in their lives. As nothing happens in a vacuum, oftentimes family members find themselves being sucked into the dysfunction that accompanies their loved one's turmoil. Helping individuals who find themselves struggling with the emotional consequences of trauma is my passion. I have also developed an interest in helping individuals who struggle with substance and/or behavioral addictions. All too often individuals find themselves coping (poorly) with a trauma, dysfunctional relationships or a painful childhood by burying themselves into addictive substances or behaviors. Let's do better...together. My training in EMDR, crisis intervention, mental health counseling and addictions, allows me to help my clients find something we all need. Hope. Hope that tomorrow can be better than today and that the past can somehow be outlived. Here's to finding Something to Believe In, together.
