I am a licensed psychologist at Aslan Institute, a holistic mental health center, and offer psychotherapy to children, adolescents and adults. Trained in psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral and family systems therapies, I provide individual, family and couples therapy. Promoting self-awareness, compassion and self-empowerment is central to my approach. Areas of specialty include: anxiety, depression, adjustment disorder, eating disorders and trauma. My previous experience includes outpatient and adolescent day treatment work and consulting on a UNICEF project in Malaysia to help train mental health professionals to work with children and families experiencing trauma after natural disasters. I have significant experience working with adolescent girls and women struggling with low self-esteem, history of abuse/trauma, depression and anxiety. Another specialty is working with adults doing transpersonal psychology. I offer workshops on the Evolution of Consciousness and Practices for Self Realization. I am sensitive to culture, race and gender issues, having lived in Europe, Africa and Asia. I have also taught courses on the Social Psychology of Gender and on Stereotypes, Prejudice and Discrimination at Eugene Lange College in New York.
