I have enjoyed working with all populations (adults, children, and adolescents). Some of my areas of interest and expertise include, but are not limited to, Family counseling, Geriatric issues, Addiction, Adolescent issues (such as being oppositional defiant). I also have a strong background in working with foster care/adoption issues. I focus strongly on the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, so that my patient can change a negative pattern of thought that prevents a joyful life. A hurtful past cannot change, but moving through fear and hurt leads to acceptance, and then peace becomes evident. I began human service work in 1986, and received my Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Montevallo (Montevallo, Al) in 1994. I became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2001.
