I have had the privilege of helping many who have experienced serious trauma get beyond the pain of their past and into a future with hope and joy. They learn their personal power and that they can use it to transform their lives. I firmly believe that this happens because I allow them to teach me their stories. I work with them to rewrite their stories and see their God-given potential by providing genuine empathy. I have worked with adolescent and adult females primarily who have experienced early childhood sexual abuse. These individuals later find themselves experiencing depression which all too often is expressed through chemical addictions, relationship violence, and psychological distress. Change comes as they experience non-judgment and acceptance through the therapeutic process. If there is agreement, I share help from a Biblical perspective. This view is often shared by the client and then expanded upon through the therapeutic process. I am careful to not impose my values but rather to expose them.
