Psychotherapy is a unique opportunity to explore and understand the feelings, thoughts, experiences, and behaviors that contribute to one's difficulties. I assume that (a) what anyone is experiencing is what's possible for the present moment and that (b) change is also possible. With each patient I work toward change over time, be it in the form of self-acceptance, emotional relief, satisfying relationships, or choices he or she feels better about. I began private practice in 2005, and from 2003 to 2013 I was on staff at Yale Health, providing individual, couples and group therapy to Yale students and their spouses. I have also worked in community mental health clinics and inpatient psychiatric hospitals.
