I have spent 20+ years working primarily with adolescent and adult males. I have considerable history working with those resistant to treatment. I have worked with populations that are diverse in regards to family history, socio-economics and life experiences. My experiences with families frequently challenges the families themselves by recognizing possible enabling, which I find is most often fueled by both love and fear. Fear is a cornerstone emotion that I find to be rooted in anxiety, depression and anger. I often prefer to incorporate the use of metaphors to help educate and clarify treatment goals. I strive to provide a therapeutic intervention that is clear, straight forward and adheres to a format that is easily understood. Interventions provided are rooted in a Cognitive-Behavioral approach that is both supportive yet promotes accountability and empowerment. My private practice work is conducted in the client's home or at the preferred site of the client. I also provide clinical supervision for social work and mental health counseling.
