A trusting relationship between client and practitioner is the most important factor in creating growth. I use a down to earth approach so therapist and client can work collaboratively to "name the elephant" in the client's life, drill down to the core of issues and discover how patterns from the past repeat in the present. I am passionate about challenging stuck points, old habits and irrational beliefs with care, compassion and respect. I am never afraid to bring humor into a session when appropriate as I value the healing properties of laughter. I am trained in various therapeutic modalities with specific concentration in trauma and addressing symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, I also work frequently with couples and folks with marital issues. I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), CBT, and Structural Family Therapy among other modalities. .
