I treat adults with mood disorders, anxiety disorders and addiction. For addiction clients I help client make the decision to quit or help with relapse prevention after they have been in treatment.. I use 12 step based education, the transtheoretical model, cognitive therapy, motivational interviewing and acceptance and commitment therapy. I am also familiar with DBT and Gottman;s seven principles. I have been in individual practice full or part time since 1980. I have also worked in inpatient addiction treatment, worked with drug court participants, taught undergraduate and graduate classes and worked in a mental health center. I believe that focusing on present issues is important.
