Counseling is a therapeutic relationship that is developed between the therapist and the patient to achieve victory over challenges in life. Shetress Woods is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has had the pleasure of providing therapeutic and social support for over 10 years. It is her desire to continue to assist others in achieving victory with a non- judgmental attitude, empathy and encouragement. Shetress provides therapeutic services in the following areas, which consist of, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety, domestic violence, adjustment, sexual abuse, anger management, grief, relational and substance abuse. There are several types of therapy that are utilized during the therapeutic process. The one in which Shetress utilizes the most is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. By utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other therapeutic techniques Shetress is able to effectively assist others in reaching their therapeutic goals. Shetress Woods has obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology,a Minor in Women's Studies and a Master of Arts in Counseling. She has had additional trainings, which has afforded her the ability to provide Psychosexuals and therapeutic services to address problem sexual behavior in youth.
