I am a Psychoanalyst- I am a Diplomate in Clinical Social Work, and I have Master's Degrees in both Psychology and Clinical Social Work. I am a graduate of the Westchester Institute for the Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy.I am adjunct professor, Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service-Westchester. I have also studied Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (including Schema Focused CBT) and DBT as well. Although I do a good deal of individual therapy, I also see couples. I believe that therapy works best when issues can be addressed in a clear and concise way, in an emotionally safe environment. My therapeutic orientation is psychoanalytic psychotherapy (although depending on the nature of the problem a more "practical approach" e.g., solution focused therapy or CBT techniques may be employed) and I do a good deal of individual therapy using that treatment modality. I also do couples therapy. What's unique is the psychological safety provided which allows people to be free to look at themselves in an open and honest way.
