I have a bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies and a master's in Social Work focusing on clinical practice with children and families. I have over ten years of experience in working with at-risk youth in their home and in out-of-home placements in various settings. I have focused my clinical work on individual therapy with children and adolescents and also in family therapy. I also have training and over 5 years experience working with individuals with disabilities and brain injuries. My work with children emphasizes play therapy, sand therapy, and art therapy while working with the parents or guardians to change the home or school environment to best help the child emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. With adolescents the focus is strength-based which sets goals and creates change based on the individual's strengths.
