My practice is very focused on treatment of anxiety and trauma. I have studied various treatment modalities such as EMDR, somatic work, and ego state therapy and have seen good results. It is important to metabolize trauma past memories as appropriate and to build safety and security in the body. I have experience working with early family attachment experiences so that attachment wounds are lessened as well as their impact on present relationships. Processing therapies tend to have better results than "talk" therapies because issues that are activating or traumatic become more settled in the past. I also work with older children and adolescents. I have found that there is often a prior traumatic experience that impacts present functioning and may contribute to anxiety issues. It is also helpful to have a solid understand of your attachment style as it is a template for your present relationships. These patterns are key to change self-defeating behaviors or impulsive patterns. I think I engage well with my clients. I enjoy this work and respect the treatment process.
