My practice primarily serves adolescents and adults who are struggling with a number of emotional and/or behavioral concerns (e.g., depression, anxiety, substance abuse, relationship troubles). I have special expertise in PTSD, grief, and other difficulties that can emerge following trauma, bereavement, serious illness (e.g., cancer), and other stressful life events (e.g., military combat). I assume a holistic approach that aims to alleviate suffering and support clients to restore meaning and purpose in life. I have learned that faith can be a critical part of this process and also enjoy working with clients who desire to address religious and/or spiritual concerns. I am also a core member of the psychology faculty at USA and have the privilege of training/mentoring the next generation of clinical/counseling psychologists on the Gulf Coast. Working in this academic role challenges me to stay on the cutting edge of scientific knowledge and continue to develop myself as a therapist. I am committed to tailoring my approach based on my clients' needs/values and available research evidence. I deeply appreciate the importance of "goodness of fit" when choosing a therapist. If you are interested in working with me, we will first get to know one another and collaborate to determine the ideal approach for you.
